ESG Industry and Public Institution Workshops Held
ESG Organizational Restructuring Implemented to Strengthen Public Functions
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] The Korea Productivity Center (Chairman An Wanki, hereinafter KPC) announced on the 10th that it will expand its service base to promote and spread ESG (Environment, Social, Governance) and strengthen policy support.
KPC has also reorganized its structure to support strengthening its public functions by holding industry-specific briefings to assist small and medium-sized enterprises, mid-sized companies, and the public sector in responding to ESG. First, KPC will hold 'ESG Industry and Public Institution Workshops,' starting from the fourth week of September, once a week. These seminars aim to capture ESG-related issues unique to each industry and seek customized solutions needed by the industrial sector. The workshops will be conducted in collaboration with industry associations and organizations, which is expected to contribute to building the ESG ecosystem.
Additionally, since July, KPC has expanded ESG management with the establishment of the ESG Committee (Chairman Lee Jong-jae, CEO of the Public Institution Social Responsibility Research Institute), composed of 13 members including non-executive directors such as Lee Gwan-seop, Vice Chairman of the Korea International Trade Association, Woo Tae-hee, Vice Chairman of the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Seo Seung-won, Vice Chairman of the Korea Federation of SMEs, and Ban Won-ik, Vice Chairman of the Federation of Mid-sized Enterprises. The focus is on supporting the construction of an ecosystem for the domestic dissemination and spread of ESG, carrying out policy support and expansion activities toward small and medium-sized enterprises, mid-sized companies, and the public sector. Going forward, KPC plans to further expand its service base as well as international cooperation and inter-agency linkage projects.

To this end, on the 9th, KPC carried out an ESG organizational restructuring centered on the establishment of the ESG Policy Center, ESG Expansion Center, and ESG Management Research Institute. The ESG business organization, which had been operated with two centers, was expanded and reorganized into four centers and one research institute (ESG Policy Center, ESG Consulting Center 1, ESG Consulting Center 2, ESG Expansion Center, ESG Management Research Institute). In addition to existing consulting and social contribution projects, KPC plans to actively promote ESG policy support and ecosystem expansion.
