Damyang Office of Education Holds Meeting for Elementary, Middle, and High School Principals to Strengthen School Management Competence
For Inspiring Damyang Education Together with Ecological Environment Education
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Chunsu Kim] The Damyang Office of Education announced on the 8th that it held a principals' meeting to strengthen school management capabilities at the Damyang Eco Center on the 7th, attended by 26 principals from elementary, middle, and high schools in the district.
The meeting included guidance on major educational support activities for the second semester, such as basic academic skills, introduction of newly transferred staff, quarantine measures for in-person classes, and safe meal operation plans, as well as tours of the Damyang Eco Center and the Honam Climate Change Experience Center.
The Damyang Office of Education is strengthening ecological environment education to respond to the climate crisis through autonomous ecological environment clubs, visiting climate change classes, ecological environment education linked with village education communities, and experience-centered ecological environment education. It also supports local community environmental guardian activities organized by the Damyang Student Union.
Lee Hongjae, principal of Mujeong Elementary School, said, "Seeing the climate change phenomena that we can feel firsthand these days, I think we need to pay more attention to the environment and practice it in our daily lives," adding, "We should strengthen ecological environment education for our students by utilizing the rich educational resources of the Damyang area."
Superintendent Lee Sook stated, "There is a saying that the rain falling now is not the monsoon but the climate crisis. It seems that the climate crisis is very close to us. I will take an interest in and support ecological environment education so that knowledge can lead to practice in life."

She continued, "We will strive to cultivate proper character, guarantee basic academic skills, enhance staff professionalism, promote democratic and empathetic educational administration, and revitalize village education communities," adding, "We will work hard for inspiring Damyang education that prepares a happy future through students' joyful learning and growth."
