Neowiz Acquires Mobile Game Developer 'Gameplit'
[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Nahum] Neowiz announced on the 8th that it has acquired a 51% stake in game developer Gamplit, making it a subsidiary. This is the second merger and acquisition following the mobile game company Sticky Hands earlier this year.
Gamplit, established in 2015, is a mobile game development company that services "Triple Fantasy." Triple Fantasy is a turn-based card strategy RPG that can be enjoyed both in player-versus-player (PVP) battles and single-player mode. It was globally released in February 2016 and won the grand prize at the Venture Tonight Demo Day in 2017.
Through this acquisition, Neowiz plans to secure its mobile game lineup and strengthen its global competitiveness.
Kim Seungcheol, co-CEO of Neowiz, said, "Gamplit is a developer with strong development and service capabilities. By adding Neowiz's service operation know-how, we will focus on achieving results in the global market."
