A Blue House official responded to a reporter's inquiry on the 3rd, stating, "(The Head of Investment Management Division at Korea Growth Investment Corporation) is not an appointment influenced by the Blue House."
He added, "It is regrettable that some media outlets have used the term 'parachute appointment' regarding a former Blue House employee's personal employment."
Korea Growth Investment Corporation announced that it will hold a shareholders' meeting on the 16th to appoint Hwang Hyun-seon, a former Blue House administrative officer and current Standing Auditor at Union Asset Management, as the new Head of Investment Management Division 2. This announcement prompted media criticism labeling the appointment as a 'parachute' personnel move.
At a luncheon with the National Assembly Speaker and Standing Committee Chairs presided over by President Moon on the same day, the possibility of raising the gift value limit for Chuseok agricultural and livestock products from 100,000 won to 200,000 won was mentioned. When asked if the President made any separate remarks on this, a Blue House official replied, "There were no special remarks."
Regarding the proposal by Deputy Speaker Jeong Jin-seok to consider transitioning to "With Corona," the official explained, "The President acknowledged Deputy Speaker Jeong's comments on the difficulties faced by small business owners and the 'With Corona' issue but did not engage in further discussions or actions."
When asked about the Blue House's stance on Japanese Prime Minister Suga's resignation, the official stated, "While the Blue House may or may not issue a statement regarding the resignation of a foreign prime minister, it is deemed inappropriate to do so."
