[Haenam＝Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Hyun] Haenam-gun, Jeollanam-do, has been finally selected for the Jeollanam-do Park Golf Course Construction Contest Project aimed at popularizing park golf, a lifestyle sports activity.

According to the county on the 3rd, park golf is an exercise that places less burden on the body while ensuring an appropriate amount of activity. It is a scaled-down version of traditional golf but allows for engaging exercise, leading to a rapid increase in club members, especially among the elderly and middle-aged groups.

The Sani Park Golf Course will be constructed on 13,250㎡ of county-owned land near Sani Middle School in Chosong-ri, Sani-myeon, with a total project cost of 600 million KRW. It will feature 18 holes, with detailed design starting in September and completion targeted for the first half of next year.

County Governor Myeong Hyun-gwan stated, “Currently, there is only one park golf course with 9 holes located in Bonghak-ri, Samsan-myeon, within Haenam-gun. The establishment of the Sani Park Golf Course is expected to somewhat alleviate the increasing demand from park golf users.”

He added, “Since the location is near the middle school in the township center, it is anticipated to be a beloved sports facility used not only by residents of Sani-myeon but also by nearby residents and students from Hwawon, Hwangsan, Masan, and other neighboring areas for physical activities.”
