Suncheon City Women's Association Unfolds Beautiful Hands Saving the Earth
Leading the Spread of a Carbon Neutral Culture through Sharing Shopping Baskets
[Suncheon=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] The Suncheon City Women's Association Council (President Choi Kyung-hee) held a reusable shopping bag sharing event on the 2nd at Suncheon Araetjang to spread the culture of practicing carbon neutrality by 2050, a global climate crisis solution.
This event was organized to raise awareness of the current climate crisis, where plastic use has become commonplace due to the spread of delivery culture amid strengthened social distancing and gathering restrictions from COVID-19, and to unite women's hands and hearts to cultivate the ecological city of Suncheon and further lead efforts to save the Earth.
The Women's Association Council plans to continue conducting campaigns twice a month at Ujang and Araetjang targeting citizens to reduce the use of disposable products and promote the use of reusable shopping bags, thereby spreading the culture of practicing carbon neutrality.
President Choi Kyung-hee said, "The beautiful touch that saves the Earth starts with you," and asked, "Please join the movement to save the Earth led by women's hands."
Suncheon Mayor Heo Seok expressed gratitude, saying, "I thank all the members who always work hard," and added, "I hope that the activities of the Women's Association members in practicing carbon neutrality will be an opportunity for Suncheon to be reborn as an ecological city."
