The recipients are first and second graders from about 170 elementary schools near its business sites in Paju, Gyeonggi-do; Gumi, Gyeongsangbuk-do; and Magok and Yeouido in Seoul. LG Display plans to deliver the umbrellas sequentially according to each school's attendance schedule.
The transparent safety umbrellas prepared by LG Display are designed to secure the visibility of children using umbrellas on cloudy or rainy days and to allow drivers to identify the children's location. They are made of transparent materials and reflective substances, and to raise drivers' awareness, the umbrellas have the school zone speed limit of '30 km/h' printed on one side and are equipped with an emergency whistle.
