US August Private Employment 374,000... More Than Half of Expected Level (Update)
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] U.S. private sector employment in August fell significantly short of market expectations.
Private employment data processor ADP announced on the 1st (local time) that private sector employment increased by 374,000 in August.
This figure was far below the expected 613,000 but slightly higher than the previous month's 326,000.
By industry, job growth in leisure and hospitality surged to 201,000. Education and healthcare also saw an increase of 59,000, and professional and business services added 19,000 jobs.

Construction jobs increased by 30,000, while natural resources and mining and manufacturing sectors saw employment rise by 9,000 and 6,000 respectively.
