According to the county on the 31st, out of the 3.078 billion KRW in overdue taxes carried over from last year, about 1.6 billion KRW has been settled. In the first half of the year, 483 vehicles were issued seizure warning notices to encourage voluntary payment, and license plates of 123 vehicles belonging to chronic delinquent taxpayers were seized, collecting 69 million KRW.
During this seizure campaign period, the county plans to strictly crack down on ghost vehicles and high-value chronic delinquent vehicles related to local income tax, property tax, automobile tax, acquisition tax, and other tax items with a high proportion of overdue amounts, as well as vehicles with delinquent taxes from other regions.
A county official stated, “We are conducting nighttime seizure activities mainly in vehicle-dense areas such as apartments and parking lots, and plan to collect overdue taxes through public auctions and public information registration of real estate and vehicles owned by high-value chronic delinquent taxpayers. We will continue to foster a sound tax payment culture through ongoing overdue tax collection activities.”
