Which Electric Cars Do Used Car Dealers Recommend? 'Ioniq Electric · Tesla'
[Asia Economy Reporter Changhwan Lee] K Car, the largest direct-operated used car company in Korea, announced on the 29th that the electric vehicles most recommended by its employees, including those at nationwide direct-operated stores, are Hyundai's Ioniq Electric and Tesla Model 3, according to a survey on electric vehicles conducted among all employees.
In the domestic car category, 34.3% of employees chose Hyundai's Ioniq Electric. The Ioniq Electric can travel up to 271 km on a single charge thanks to its high-efficiency lithium-ion polymer battery system and lightweight body.
Jung Juho, chief of K Car's Cheongju direct-operated store, recommended purchasing it due to its practicality, high preference, and lack of noticeable minor defects.
Among employees, 29% recommended Kia's Niro EV. It was praised for being the most popular, having excellent space utilization, and offering great cost-effectiveness. Following that, Chevrolet's Bolt EV received 14.5% of recommendations, and Hyundai's Kona EV received 12.1%.
Among imported cars, Tesla brand models took first and second place. The Tesla Model 3 ranked first with 46.4% of employee recommendations. The Model 3 is Tesla's most popular model, and its limited availability in the used car market?since it has been less than two years since its domestic release?is also a factor in its popularity.
K Car employees cited low maintenance costs (43.1%) as the biggest advantage of electric vehicles. With fuel prices continuously rising recently, the low charging cost is perceived as even more attractive.
Next, 20.2% responded that electric vehicles help the environment, ranking second. Other advantages included tax benefits when purchasing eco-friendly cars (13.7%) and excellent quietness (13.3%).
Meanwhile, when asked, "Which upcoming electric vehicle model are you most looking forward to?" 25.8% of respondents chose the Mercedes-Benz EQS. The most common reason for selecting the Mercedes-Benz EQS was that it is the brand's top-tier electric vehicle model, raising high expectations.
