View original image[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] The Korea Rail Network Authority announced on the 25th that it presented commendations and plaques of appreciation to workers who saved the lives of colleagues who collapsed due to cardiac arrest at railway sites last month.
According to the Rail Network Authority, railway site worker Lee Jin-yong witnessed colleague A (68) suddenly collapse while resting at the Yeongdong Line improvement construction site around 9:30 a.m. on the 21st of last month. He immediately called 119 and performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) following real-time emergency instructions provided by the 119 comprehensive control center.
Other workers at the site took necessary measures such as positioning personnel to guide vehicles along the roadside to ensure the ambulance could quickly reach the scene, assisting the ambulance's entry.
Thanks to these efforts, Mr. A received emergency treatment from paramedics upon arrival at the site and was urgently transported to the hospital. During the treatment process, he regained consciousness and is currently recovering his health.
