On the same day, Kim said on his TBS radio show "Kim Eo-jun's News Factory," "Busan National University said that Ms. A's grades were good and that no student was disadvantaged or failed because of her admission," expressing his inability to understand the decision made based on the second trial guilty verdict of Ms. A's mother, Professor Jeong Gyeong-shim of Dongyang University.
He continued, "The court found her guilty of obstructing university admission screening, while the university said it did not affect the admission," pointing out, "This is backwards; the university should have claimed it was obstructed first, and then the court should have ruled on that."
Kim also criticized, "(Busan National University's decision) completely denies the entire process from Ms. A's high school years to obtaining her medical license over ten years."
Furthermore, he said, "They tried to catch former Minister Cho Kuk, but since that didn't work, they went after his daughter," and criticized, "The Supreme Court's final ruling has not yet been made, so are they issuing the cancellation decision first?"
Earlier, Busan National University held a press conference at the university headquarters in the afternoon of the previous day and announced, "We have decided on a preliminary administrative disposition to cancel Ms. A's admission to the 2015 Medical School." This came about four months after the Busan National University Admission Fairness Management Committee (Fairness Committee) conducted an internal investigation into allegations of Ms. A's fraudulent admission.
The university headquarters explained that they comprehensively reviewed the Fairness Committee's "internal investigation report," Professor Jeong's appellate court ruling, and opinions from relevant departments.
Park Hong-won, Vice President for Academic Affairs at Busan National University, stated regarding this, "(Although it is not a Supreme Court ruling) I believe that taking administrative action based on the appellate court ruling, which is the final fact-finding trial, does not significantly deviate from respecting the 'presumption of innocence' principle."
Meanwhile, former Minister Cho Kuk said on his Facebook, "It is painful as a father," and added, "I will faithfully explain during the scheduled hearing process before the final decision is made."
