[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Sang-hyun] Goseong-gun, Gyeongnam is conducting a special inspection on illegal waste.
On the 24th, Goseong-gun announced that it will conduct on-site checks on 20 locations including vulnerable business sites, forestlands, and vacant lots to verify compliance with permit standards, proper storage and disposal of waste, and illegal dumping activities.
For places difficult for people to monitor, such as forestlands where waste is likely to be dumped without permission, CCTV and drones will be used to enhance the effectiveness of the crackdown.
Additionally, with the implementation of a reward system for reporting illegal waste disposal, informants will receive rewards ranging from a minimum of 30,000 KRW to a maximum of 1,000,000 KRW according to the Ministry of Environment's reward payment regulations.
