Lee Jin, Minsaeng Party Representative Candidate, Goes All Out to Win Honam Public Support
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Candidate Lee Jin, running for the Minsaeng Party leadership, is focusing on winning the support of the Honam region.
According to the Minsaeng Party on the 23rd, the party is preparing for a national convention on the 28th to elect the party leader and supreme council members, targeting approximately 407,000 party members and rights holders.
Honam is considered a key battleground that will determine the outcome of this election.
Candidate Lee has devised a strategy to maintain an advantage based on his ties to the region: he is originally from Jeonnam, attended school in Jeonbuk, and worked in Gwangju.
On the day, he held a policy announcement at the Gwangju “Start of Change” election campaign office.
He stated, “I will present policies that differ in tone from the politics of Yeouido so far,” and promised, “This is not just about empty talk of revitalizing the local economy, but about implementing practical policies and actions.”
He also emphasized, “The Minsaeng Party will hire 50% local talent for party officials and the Innovation and Future Research Institute, purchase all supplies used by the party locally starting from a single pen, and contract with local companies.”
To demonstrate his commitment to fulfilling his pledges, he signed a supply purchase agreement with Kim Seoksu, Policy Director of the Small Business Startup Management Support Group.
Meanwhile, this election is conducted under a two-vote system. Since selecting only one candidate invalidates the vote, the seven candidates are forming alliances to complement each other’s weaknesses.
The party member voting to elect the Minsaeng Party leader and supreme council members will be conducted from the 24th to the 27th via the Central Election Commission’s K-Voting and ARS, with the final winner decided at the national convention on August 28.
