All 33 Beaches in Chungnam Including Mallipo Closed... Safety Management Continues
[Asia Economy (Hongseong) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] All 33 beaches in the Chungnam region were closed from the 22nd.
Chungnam Province announced on the 23rd that all 33 designated beaches in the province, including Taean Mallipo Beach, which was scheduled to operate until the 29th, were safely closed without any confirmed COVID-19 cases.
However, the province plans to maintain quarantine and water safety management for visitors who may still come to the beaches after closure. This includes promoting social distancing within the beaches, extending the working hours of water safety personnel, and managing the shared waters (sandy beaches) at night.
In particular, for the five major beaches in the province?Daecheon, Muchangpo, Chunjangdae, Waemok Village, and Nanjiseom?an administrative order banning drinking and eating on the sandy beaches from 7 PM to 6 AM will be maintained until the 29th. Additionally, 18 safety management personnel will work extended hours to prepare for any possible water-related safety accidents.
Furthermore, at the other 28 beaches, government officials and local residents will jointly strengthen patrols during vulnerable hours to address safety management gaps at beaches where it is difficult to assign water safety personnel at all times.
