According to the COVID-19 Vaccination Response Promotion Team (Promotion Team) on the 22nd, the number of new first-dose vaccinations administered the previous day was 359,510.
The number of first-dose vaccinations in Korea has significantly increased since the start of vaccinations for the 50-54 age group on the 16th (announced as of 0:00 on the 17th, 661,839 people), recording over 500,000 for five consecutive days, but slightly decreased the previous day due to the weekend effect.
By vaccine type, the number of new first-dose vaccinations was 194,485 for Pfizer, 149,671 for Moderna, and 15,354 for AstraZeneca (AZ).
As of 0:00 on the day, the cumulative number of first-dose vaccinations in Korea reached 25,866,970, which corresponds to 50.4% of the total population (51,349,116 as of December last year). The cumulative first-dose vaccinations surpassed the 50% mark as of 11:00 AM the previous day.
Looking at cumulative first-dose vaccinations by vaccine, Pfizer accounts for 11,623,190, AstraZeneca 10,836,390, and Moderna 2,280,477.
The cumulative number of Janssen vaccine recipients is 1,129,784. People who received the Janssen vaccine, which requires only one dose, are included in both the first and second dose counts.
The number of people who completed the second dose increased by 122,794 the previous day.
By vaccine type, AstraZeneca accounted for 106,552, Pfizer 16,237, and Moderna 5.
The number of people who completed AstraZeneca vaccinations was counted as 1,210,917, but among them, 15,365 received AstraZeneca for the first dose and Pfizer for the second dose as a mixed vaccination.
Thus, the total number of people who completed both doses increased to 11,562,518, which is about 22.5% of the population.
The cumulative number of completed vaccinations by vaccine is 5,335,965 for Pfizer, 5,033,850 for AstraZeneca (including 1,210,572 mixed vaccinations), 62,919 for Moderna, and the rest are Janssen recipients.
Among the AstraZeneca vaccine target group (12,193,337 people), 88.9% have completed the first dose. The second dose vaccination rate is 41.3%.
For the Pfizer vaccine, 80.4% of the total target group (14,452,940 people) have completed the first dose, and 36.9% have completed the second dose.
For the Moderna vaccine, 67.3% of the total target group (3,389,497 people) have completed the first dose, and the second dose vaccination rate is 1.9%.
For the Janssen vaccine, all but 199 of the target group (1,129,983 people) have been vaccinated.
