Chinese Media: "US Intelligence Agencies Failed in Afghanistan, Unable to Determine COVID-19 Origin"
China's Global Times, known for its hawkish stance on foreign affairs, argued that U.S. intelligence agencies should not be responsible for investigating the origin of COVID-19.
In an editorial on the 20th, the state-run Global Times stated, "If U.S. intelligence agencies had been able to foresee the vulnerability of the Afghan government forces, President Joe Biden would not have acted so recklessly, no matter how hastily he wanted to withdraw the troops."
The newspaper pointed out that despite having over 1,000 U.S. intelligence personnel in Afghanistan, they failed to understand the actual situation in Taliban-controlled areas.
