Campaign to Promote and Enhance Local Residents' Awareness of Bicycle Use
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Jinju City, Gyeongnam Province, announced on the 20th that it will conduct the "Bike to Work Campaign" to celebrate "Energy Day" on the 22nd and "World Car-Free Day" on September 22, organized by the Sustainable Development Council (Chairman Kim Cheol-ho).
The Sustainable Development Council will also hold a bicycle usage event until September 22, the "World Car-Free Day."
To participate, download and register on the "EcoBike" app on your smartphone, and during the campaign period, certify commuting by bicycle for more than 10 days. Participants will receive mobile Jinju Love Gift Certificates ranging from 10,000 to 100,000 KRW based on their participation performance.
Jinju City expects this event to serve as an opportunity to practice the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including sustainable cities and communities, and climate change response, by encouraging citizens' participation online.
A Jinju City official said, "This is a critical time for citizens' interest in carbon neutrality and the climate crisis," and added, "We hope many citizens will participate in this bicycle riding event."

It was launched in January 2019 with 50 members, including experts and citizens from various fields such as society, economy, environment, and culture.
