Full-Scale Urban Redevelopment of Dongdaemun-gu Yongdu 1 District (3rd Zone) Underway
Construction of a mixed-use residential and commercial building in Yongdu 1 District (3rd Zone) with a floor area ratio of 898.62%, total floor area of 40,785㎡, 6 basement levels, and 28 floors above ground, including 75 rental housing units, totaling 288 residential units, 96 officetel units, and auxiliary facilities
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Dongdaemun-gu (Mayor You Deok-yeol) announced that the Cheongnyangni Redevelopment Promotion District Yongdu 1 District (Zone 3) urban maintenance-type redevelopment project in the area of 26-14 Yongdu-dong is expected to be actively promoted.
Yongdu 1 District (Zone 3) was designated as the Cheongnyangni Redevelopment Promotion District on September 10, 2009, and after the change in the redevelopment promotion plan was announced on October 22 last year, the project implementation plan was approved on the 12th of this month.
In Yongdu 1 District (Zone 3), a residential-commercial complex building with a floor area ratio of 898.62%, a total floor area of 40,785㎡, 6 basement floors, and 28 above-ground floors will be constructed. It will include 75 rental housing units, a total of 288 apartment units, 96 officetel units, and ancillary welfare facilities.
The area is close to Jegi-dong Station (Line 1) and Cheongnyangni Station (Line 1, Gyeongui-Jungang Line, etc.), and the Dongbuk Line Jegi-dong Station is scheduled to begin construction in the future, making it expected to become a transportation hub in the northeastern part of Seoul.
Additionally, it is adjacent to Kyung Hee University, Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, University of Seoul, Korea University, Yongdu Elementary School, and Sungin Middle School, providing an excellent educational environment.
When Yongdu 1 District (Zone 3) is completed in the second half of 2024, it will harmonize with the Cheongnyangni 3 District, Cheongnyangni 4 District, and Dongbu Agricultural Market Redevelopment Project Area, which are scheduled to be completed in 2023, and the Yongdu-dong area is expected to be modernized and transformed into a high-rise building cluster.
