Gochang-gun Provides 'Postpartum Care Expenses' Support for Families with Newborns

[Gochang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jaegil] Jeonbuk Gochang-gun (Governor Yu Gisang) announced on the 19th that it will provide ‘postpartum care expenses’ to help mothers recover their health after childbirth and create a favorable environment for having children.

The support target applies from childbirth on the 15th of last month, the date of amendment of the ‘Gochang-gun Ordinance on Encouragement of Childbirth and Support,’ and is for mothers who have resided in the county for more than one year as of the date of childbirth.

It is paid in Gochang Love Gift Certificates worth 500,000 KRW per newborn, and in the case of multiple births, 1,000,000 KRW for twins, 1,500,000 KRW for triplets, etc., paid in multiples of 500,000 KRW according to the number of newborns.

If the residence period at the time of childbirth is less than one year, application is possible from the day one year has passed.

Applications can be made at the eup/myeon office after birth registration using the integrated childbirth service application form, allowing simultaneous application for childbirth encouragement funds, birth congratulatory goods, postpartum care expenses, and more.

In addition to government common support projects related to childbirth, the county is implementing four independent projects (support for mothers’ and newborns’ health management out-of-pocket expenses, support for pregnancy and birth congratulatory goods worth about 500,000 KRW, full support for delivery medical expenses at Gochang delivery obstetrics and gynecology, and postpartum medical examination coupons worth 200,000 KRW per person).

By additionally supporting postpartum care expenses this time, the county is making multifaceted and active efforts to create a ‘Gochang where childbirth is happy.’
