Incheon City Issues Administrative Order for COVID-19 Testing on Foreign-Employed Fishing Boats and Aquaculture Farms
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] Incheon City issued an administrative order on the 18th requiring employers and workers at foreign employment workplaces related to the fisheries industry to undergo COVID-19 diagnostic testing.
This is a preemptive measure to block the spread following recent cluster infections at foreign employment workplaces related to the fisheries industry.
Accordingly, employers (managers, shipowners) and workers (both domestic and foreign workers, office managers, etc.) at fishing vessels and aquaculture farms employing foreign workers must undergo COVID-19 PCR diagnostic testing by the 31st, regardless of vaccination status.
However, residents of island areas who have not visited the mainland or had contact with others within the past 14 days are exempt from the administrative order.
Additionally, fishing vessels that set sail before the administrative order must undergo diagnostic testing within 48 hours after returning to port.
