Choo Mi-ae Loses Lawsuit Against Chosun Ilbo Over 'Ambassador Appointment Favoritism Allegation' Report
[Asia Economy Reporter Seongpil Cho] Former Minister of Justice Choo Mi-ae lost in the first trial after filing a lawsuit against Chosun Ilbo, which reported allegations of favoritism claiming that a foreign broadcaster who introduced a restaurant run by her child as a regular restaurant was appointed as a Ministry of Justice public relations ambassador.
The Seoul Central District Court Civil Division 14 (Presiding Judge Jongmin Kim) ruled against the plaintiffs, former Minister Choo and the Ministry of Justice, in the defamation correction and damages claim lawsuit filed against Chosun Ilbo on the 18th.

Earlier, Chosun Ilbo reported that Julian Quintart, a Belgian-born broadcaster, introduced the restaurant of former Minister Choo's daughter as a regular restaurant on a past broadcast, and thanks to this, he was appointed as a public relations ambassador in May last year.
