Gibo-Korea Broadcasting Video Production Association Join Hands to Discover K-Killer Content
Agreement Signed for Support of Broadcasting and Video Industry
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] The Korea Technology Finance Corporation (Chairman Jung Yoon-mo, hereinafter referred to as Kibo) announced on the 17th that it signed a comprehensive business agreement for a win-win partnership with the Korea Broadcasting and Video Production Association (President Heo Ju-min, hereinafter referred to as the Association) to discover and nurture K-Killer content broadcasting and video production companies.
This agreement was prepared to actively discover and nurture excellent K-Killer content production companies as the status of K-content has risen along with the growth of OTT (Over-The-Top online video services).
According to the agreement, the Association will discover excellent K-Killer content production companies and recommend them to Kibo, and Kibo will provide customized total services such as cultural industry completion guarantees, guarantee fee reductions, direct investment, content intellectual property protection, and technology trust to the companies recommended by the Association, maximizing the development and synergy of the broadcasting and video industry ecosystem.
Kibo introduced the cultural industry completion guarantee in September 2009 to focus on nurturing the broadcasting, video, and cultural content industries. In addition, it established four cultural content-dedicated sales offices nationwide called Cultural Content Finance Centers, and as of the end of July 2021, it supported 1558 projects with 822 billion KRW. Works such as the drama Hospital Playlist (tvN), Nevertheless (JTBC), It’s Okay to Not Be Okay (tvN), the educational program World Theme Travel (EBS), and the entertainment show Tomorrow’s Miss Trot (TV Chosun) received much love from viewers through Kibo’s cultural industry completion guarantee support.
