Jeju Island Reports 36 New COVID-19 Cases... 289 Infections in the Past Week

The spread of COVID-19 in the Jeju area is not subsiding.
Jeju Province announced on the 16th at 5 p.m. that 36 new COVID-19 cases (numbers 2143 to 2178) have been confirmed.
As cluster infections and daily transmissions among family and acquaintances continue, the number of confirmed cases is rapidly increasing.
Of the 36 new confirmed cases, 24 are contacts of confirmed cases in the Jeju area, 2 are contacts of confirmed cases from other regions, and the infection routes of the remaining 8 are being investigated.
Seven individuals (numbers 2155 to 2158, 2171, 2173, and 2174) are contacts of confirmed cases related to 'Jeju-si Hagwon 2'. One other individual (number 2175) is a contact of a confirmed case related to 'Jeju-si Acquaintance Gathering 8'.
