View original imageAfrican Swine Fever (ASF) has additionally occurred at a pig farm in Inje-gun, Gangwon Province.
According to the African Swine Fever Central Accident Response Headquarters (CARH) on the 16th, a detailed inspection of this farm, which has an epidemiological link to the ASF-affected farm in Goseong-gun, Gangwon, on the 7th, confirmed ASF in two sow samples.
In the case of Inje, although ASF-infected wild boars have been found, this is the first known occurrence at a farm.
The Gangwon quarantine authorities dispatched six personnel, including controllers, to the site to restrict movement between farms, control access, conduct disinfection, and began culling about 1,700 pigs.

A CARH official emphasized, "Farms should thoroughly implement quarantine measures such as disinfection of farms and livestock-related facilities to prevent ASF occurrence and spread," and added, "Furthermore, closely monitor pigs for any suspicious symptoms, and if abnormalities are found, promptly report to livestock quarantine agencies."
