Kim Eo-jun: "If We Win the Presidential Election, 'The Time of Jo Guk' Will Surely Come"
[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Juhee] Broadcaster Kim Eo-jun claimed that regarding the fact that Jeong Gyeong-sim, spouse of former Minister of Justice Cho Kuk and a professor at Dongyang University, was sentenced to imprisonment again in the appellate court, "If there is an action, there is a reaction; that is the principle of the universe," and asserted, "Cho Kuk's time will surely come."
On the 13th, on his YouTube channel 'Kim Eo-jun's Das Bweida,' Kim said, "Even if I don't see it immediately, even if it takes time, if there is an action, a reaction will definitely appear," emphasizing, "Cho Kuk's time is bound to come. To make that time come, we just need to win the presidential election."
At the end of the video that day, Kim asked, "How many subscribers do we have now?" and said, "Only 160,000 left to reach 1 million. Let's hold this presidential election with 1 million subscribers." This is interpreted as a repeated appeal for support and participation from the channel's main subscribers, who are strong pro-Moon Jae-in supporters, for victory in next year's presidential election.
On the 12th, on his TBS radio show 'Kim Eo-jun's News Factory,' he expressed dissatisfaction with the appellate court ruling on Professor Jeong, saying, "Personally, I do not agree with the court's judgment," and questioned, "Is this justice when Lee Jae-yong, Vice Chairman of Samsung Electronics, who gave 8.6 billion won in bribes, served only half a year and came out?"
He further claimed that this trial was "an attempt to take down former Minister Cho Kuk, who was considered a potential candidate for the next presidential election," and added, "In the process, they thoroughly investigated Cho Kuk's father, mother, siblings, cousins, spouse, and children, turning it into a family hostage drama."
Previously, Professor Jeong, who was indicted on charges including her children's admission fraud and private equity fund suspicions, was sentenced to four years in prison in the appellate court as well as in the first trial. The appellate court judged that all seven career certificates of Jeong's daughter, Cho Min, were false, as in the first trial. However, some charges of using undisclosed important information, which were found guilty in the first trial, were overturned and acquitted.
