Democratic Party: "North Korea, Come to the Dialogue Table and Open the Future of Peace on the Korean Peninsula"
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Cheol-eung] The Democratic Party of Korea emphasized peace on the Korean Peninsula on the occasion of the 76th Liberation Day.
Ko Yong-jin, the senior spokesperson of the Democratic Party, stated in a written briefing on the 15th, "I hope that North Korea, which shares the joy and emotion of liberation, will come out to the dialogue table between the South and the North that has been cut off and open a constructive peaceful future for the Korean Peninsula together."
He also said, "I hope that Japan, which remembers today as the day to commemorate the end of the war, will stand as a neighboring country that opens a future of peace through reflection and reconciliation in the face of the shackles of history."

Spokesperson Ko emphasized, "After liberation, the Republic of Korea overcame war, extreme poverty, dictatorship, and foreign exchange crises with one heart and became an economic powerhouse attracting the world's attention," adding, "In July, the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) officially changed Korea's status from a developing country to an advanced country. This is the first time in world history, and it is a proud achievement that our people, inheriting the spirit of liberation, have accomplished in just over half a century."
