Police Officer Candidate Selection Exam Application Opens... June 16-26
October Written Exam... Physical Test and Interview Followed
by Final Successful Candidates Announcement in December
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-ju] The Korean National Police University announced on the 15th that it will begin accepting applications for the 2022 71st Police Officer Candidate Selection Examination from the 16th to the 26th of this month.
The upcoming selection exam schedule is as follows: ▲ Written Exam (October 16) ▲ Announcement of Written Exam Passers (October 21, 5 PM) ▲ Physical, Fitness, and Aptitude Tests (October 29 to November 5) ▲ Interview Exam (December 6 to 14) ▲ Final Successful Candidates Announcement (December 17).
In particular, considering the difficulties faced by examinees due to the spread of COVID-19, the deadline for submitting 'English Proficiency Test Scores' as a substitute for the English exam has been extended from the original application deadline to the day before the written exam, October 15. The score criteria are TOEIC 625 or higher, TOEFL PBT 490 or higher / IBT 58 or higher, TEPS 280 or higher, G-TELP (Level 2) 50 or higher, FLEX 520 or higher, and TOSEL Advanced 550 or higher.
Applications can be submitted through the Cyber Police Agency application website. Examinees who are COVID-19 positive or under self-quarantine orders from health authorities may also take the exam after prior arrangements in consultation with the health authorities.

Those who pass the final selection exam will complete a one-year training course at the Korean National Police University and then be appointed as lieutenants to work in various fields of public safety on the front lines.
