400,000 Doses of Janssen Vaccine Provided by the U.S. Arrive on Gwangbokjeol
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jin-ho] 400,000 doses of Johnson & Johnson's COVID-19 Janssen vaccine provided by the U.S. government will arrive in South Korea on August 15, Liberation Day.
The U.S. Embassy in Korea announced on the 14th, "We are providing 400,000 doses of the Janssen vaccine to South Korea, our close ally and partner."
The embassy explained, "On June 5, 1.01 million doses, double the amount promised during the Biden-Moon Jae-in summit on May 21, arrived," adding, "This donation is the second large-scale vaccine provision of the year since then."

Meanwhile, the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency announced on the 13th that it plans to vaccinate inmates and seafarers with a total of 500,000 doses, combining 400,000 doses provided by the U.S. and 100,000 doses previously procured through direct contracts.
