KT Cloud Game 'Game Box' Celebrates 1 Year with Release of 2 New Games
[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] KT celebrates the 1st anniversary of its cloud gaming service 'Game Box' by introducing new blockbuster games 'Flag Tail: Innocence' and 'Overcooked.'
KT offers the cloud version of Flag Tail: Innocence, an action-adventure game developed by Asobo Studio and published by Focus Home Interactive.
They are also releasing the family-friendly game Overcooked. Overcooked is a cooking game developed by Ghost Town Games and published by Team17. KT is developing a feature that allows multiple players to enjoy the game together on a large TV screen, controllable via the GiGA Genie remote.
Game Box has secured the largest cumulative user base among domestic cloud gaming services, growing into a service enjoyed by 150,000 users within one year.
Analyzing Game Box usage over the past year, KT revealed that 84% of all subscribers are male, with the 30s age group accounting for 33% and the 20s for 30% of users. Usage rates were highest during evening hours and showed a tendency to increase on weekends compared to weekdays.
The most popular games were major titles such as Mafia III, XCOM 2, and The King of Fighters XIV, while casual games like Seungjin Matgo, indie game Sowon, and Come On Baby had high usage rates.
To celebrate the 1st anniversary of Game Box, KT is holding an instant win event offering Naver Points and cultural gift certificates to users who enjoy the cloud version of Flag Tail: Innocence on Game Box.
KT is also recruiting participants for the Game Box GiGA Genie experience group. Those who enjoy Game Box through GiGA Genie and leave reviews will receive prizes such as an iPad Air and Shinsegae Department Store gift certificates. Customers who subscribe as paid members from the 26th to the 8th of next month will be entered into a draw to win prizes including an LG UltraGear gaming monitor and AirPods Pro.
