View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Seohyun] Yoon Seok-yeol, former Prosecutor General and presidential candidate of the People Power Party, directly criticized the ruling party on the 11th, saying, "I have never experienced a situation where the majority party in the 21st National Assembly acted with arrogance and arbitrary power."
On the morning of the same day, at a meeting with re-elected members of the People Power Party held in the main building of the National Assembly, Yoon criticized, "Due to the reckless creation and processing of laws through arrogance and arbitrary power, it backfired, and last fall the Lease Protection Act (Jeonwolse 신고제, Jeonwolse 상한제, and Contract Renewal Request Rights) was passed without proper procedure, and now it is being shunned by the majority of the public."
He continued, "Regardless of whether it is the majority or minority party, the attitude of forcing a vote on a specific bill from the beginning and unilaterally proceeding by saying it must pass because they are the majority party is against parliamentary principles."
Yoon said, "Even in the Supreme Court, 13 justices hear cases in a full bench, and in each panel, 4 justices make decisions, but there is no law that cases immediately go to a vote as soon as they come up," adding, "They deliberate thoroughly and hold several meetings among justices to narrow differences. Only when that fails do they proceed to a vote."
He added, "A party with the majority of seats must respect the positions of parties with minority seats and go through sufficient consensus and discussion. Only when that fails is a vote necessary," and expressed dissatisfaction, saying, "The procedure and process of voting are important, and I cannot help but seriously point out problems in this regard."
Meanwhile, addressing the re-elected members of the People Power Party, he said, "You members and I are now political comrades. From my perspective, you are senior political figures," and added, "Since our National Assembly operates centered on standing committees chaired by re-elected members, you play a pivotal role in the operation of the Assembly."

He also said, "I ask you to speak frankly and teach me a lot so that I can learn much going forward." He continued, "As a citizen who witnessed the People Power Party not securing many seats in last year's general election and the hardships you endured fighting on the front lines against the unilateral processing of various bills, I once again offer my consolation and gratitude to all of you who have played a role amid such majority rule tyranny."
