Eom Jeong-hwa and Jo Jin-woong Appointed as Jury Members for Busan International Film Festival Actor Awards
Actors Uhm Jung-hwa and Jo Jin-woong have been appointed as judges for the 'Actor of the Year Award' at this year's Busan International Film Festival. The 'Actor of the Year Award' is established to discover new actors who will lead the future of Korean cinema. It is awarded to the male and female actors who deliver the most impressive performances in films submitted to the New Currents section and the Korean Cinema Today-Vision section, along with a prize of 5 million KRW.
Uhm Jung-hwa is a versatile entertainer who debuted in 1993 with the film On a Windy Day, You Must Go to Apgujeong-dong. Her notable works include Marriage Is a Crazy Thing, Singles, The Most Beautiful Week of My Life, Aurora Princess, Haeundae, Dancing Queen, Montage, Miss Wife, and Okay Madam. Actor Jo Jin-woong debuted with the film Once Upon a Time in High School and has shown a wide acting spectrum in films such as War of the Arrows, Assassination, A Hard Day, The Handmaiden, Believer, Fabricated City, Perfect Stranger, and Time to Hunt.
