With its closure scheduled for the 31st, Seoul Theater is offering free tickets on a first-come, first-served basis to 100 people on weekdays and 200 people on weekends for three weeks starting today (the 11th). Opened in 1979, Seoul Theater became a cultural symbol of Jongno. In 1989, it operated three screens and was regarded as a pioneer of multiplex cinemas. However, its popularity declined with the full-scale emergence of large corporate multiplexes, and the recent COVID-19 pandemic became the decisive factor for its closure.
