Hyundai Mobis Hosts 'Algorithm Competition' to Discover Mobility SW Talent
Expansion of Participation Scope to General Public in Competitions Starting This Year
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Je-hoon] Hyundai Mobis announced on the 11th that it will hold the '2021 Hyundai Mobis Algorithm Competition' to promote software (SW) development in the future mobility sector and discover related talent. Registration is open until the 25th and can be done on the coding test specialized platform 'Programmers' website.
Since 2019, Hyundai Mobis has held competitions for its employees to spread a software-centered research and development culture. Starting this year, the competition has been opened to the general public to expand the base of software development in the future mobility field. Accordingly, anyone aged 18 or older who is interested in coding and programming can participate without any special restrictions.
The competition involves solving problems and submitting source code within a time limit using four computer programming languages (C, C++, JAVA, PYTHON). The preliminary round will be held on the 27th, and the top 50 participants will advance to the finals. The finals will take place on the 3rd of next month. Both the preliminary and final rounds will be conducted online considering the COVID-19 situation.

All finalists will receive a total prize of approximately 100 million KRW. The first place winner (1 person) will receive a Kia K5, second place (2 people) 10 million KRW, third place (4 people) 5 million KRW, fourth place (10 people) 1 million KRW, and fifth place (33 people) 500,000 KRW. A Hyundai Mobis official stated, "We hope that many applicants with high interest in software development in the future mobility sector will participate, thereby expanding the development base in this field."
