[Concall] KT "Expecting 5G Wireless ARPU Growth in Second Half"
[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] KT stated during the 2021 Q2 KT earnings conference call held on the afternoon of the 10th, "We will maintain the early-year guidance of 4% service revenue growth, approximately 500 billion to 600 billion KRW or more."
However, they added, "Due to increased cost expenditures, expanded CAPEX (capital expenditures), and business restructuring, profits in the second half are expected to be somewhat lower compared to the first half."
Supported by the net increase in 5G communication service subscribers, the growth trend of wireless ARPU (Average Revenue Per User) is expected to continue. KT's Q2 ARPU was 32,342 KRW, up 3.0% year-over-year and 1.1% quarter-over-quarter.

KT said, "In the second half, 5G subscribers will increase," adding, "New Samsung foldable phone models and the release of the 'iPhone 13' are anticipated. We expect the 5G subscriber ratio to reach 45%, so the ARPU growth trend is naturally expected to be maintained."
