Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education Conducts the 2nd Elementary, Middle, and High School Equivalency Exams
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Cho Hyung-joo] The Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education announced on the 10th that it will conduct the "2021 2nd Elementary, Middle, and High School Equivalency Exam" on the 11th.
This 2nd equivalency exam will be held at a total of five test sites including Jeonnam Technical High School (elementary, middle, and high school levels), Gwangju Technical High School (high school level), Gwangju Juvenile Detention Center, Gwangju Prison, and a separate test site for self-quarantined individuals, with a total of 1,141 examinees: 86 for elementary, 160 for middle, and 895 for high school levels.
To prevent and control the spread of COVID-19, thorough disinfection will be conducted before and after the exam at all test sites, and temperature checks will be performed on all exam officials and examinees at the entrances of the test sites.
On the exam day, all examinees must continuously wear masks inside the test sites. For those taking the exam from the first period, entry must be completed by 8:20 AM, and for those taking the exam from the second period or later, they must arrive at the test site entrance at least 20 minutes before the exam starts.
Meanwhile, individuals confirmed with COVID-19 are also allowed to take the exam. Those who have been notified of confirmation or self-quarantine and wish to take the equivalency exam must apply in advance to the Office of Education by 6 PM on the 10th and, upon approval from health authorities, can take the exam at a separate test site.
The announcement of successful candidates is scheduled to be made on the 30th through the Office of Education’s website.
