Pohang City Holds 'Safe Taxi' Launch Ceremony... Installed 'Partitions' to Prevent COVID-19
A total of 2,769 taxis, including 1,874 private taxis and 895 corporate taxis
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] On the 10th, Pohang City held a launch ceremony for safe taxis equipped with partitions inside the taxis to ensure the safety and convenience of citizens and tourists.
The launch ceremony was attended by Lee Kang-deok, Mayor of Pohang, Lim Seong-gyu, Head of the Pohang City Branch of the Private Taxi Association, Jung Jae-kyun, Chairman of the Corporate Taxi Representatives Council, and taxi drivers.
The safe taxis with installed partitions include a total of 2,769 vehicles: 1,874 private taxis and 895 corporate taxis. The drivers of these taxis will attach double-sided stickers promoting the 'Pohang Love Address Holding Movement' campaign on the taxi partitions to help raise awareness of the address holding campaign.

Mayor Lee Kang-deok emphasized, "I hope that the installation of taxi partitions will revitalize the taxi industry, which has been weakened due to COVID-19," and added, "We are doing our best to provide a safe taxi environment for citizens and tourists visiting our city."
