View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Yeongdeungpo-gu (District Mayor Cha Hyun-il) is accepting nominations for candidates for the "28th Yeongdeungpo Resident Award," which recognizes residents and organizations who have faithfully fulfilled their duties in various social fields and have dedicated themselves to community harmony and regional development, until August 19.
Now in its 28th year, the Yeongdeungpo Resident Award annually honors exemplary residents who have contributed to the development of the district through sharing and donations, helping to create a better living environment in Yeongdeungpo, thereby fostering residents' pride and serving as a model for the local community.
This year, a total of 18 recipients (individuals or organizations) will be selected across nine categories: ▲Honorable Parent Award ▲Filial Piety Award ▲Volunteer Award ▲Sports Award ▲Culture and Arts Award ▲Education Award ▲Environment Award ▲Community Contribution Award ▲Welfare Award.
Nominees must have resided in Yeongdeungpo-gu for at least three years as of the nomination date or be representatives of companies or organizations located in the district, with special achievements in their respective fields. However, those who have received the Resident Award within the past three years are excluded.
Recommendations can be made by heads of related institutions and organizations, or by the heads of neighborhoods, and nominations can also be submitted with the signatures of 30 or more residents.
Those wishing to nominate candidates can download the nomination form and achievement report from the district’s official website and submit the documents in person at the Yeongdeungpo District Office’s Autonomous Administration Division or the local neighborhood community center by August 19, or send them by mail.
Subsequently, the district will investigate the achievements of each candidate and, through a review by an expert committee, select the final awardees, who will be honored at the upcoming "Yeongdeungpo Residents' Day" ceremony scheduled for September.
