Gangwon-do Hosts 'Food and Beauty Export Consultation Meeting' Inviting Overseas Buyers
Support for Domestic Companies to Develop and Expand Overseas Market Channels
Opening Ceremony Scheduled at Chuncheon Bears Hotel from August 10 to 12
[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] Gangwon Province will hold an export consultation meeting from the 10th to the 13th, inviting four major overseas buyer companies and 30 food and beauty companies from within the province.
The export consultation meeting, held at the Bears Hotel in Chuncheon, will include participation from major U.S. buyers such as 'H MART,' the largest Korean supermarket chain with over 70 stores in the U.S., and 'WOOLTARI USA,' which also operates multiple stores and imports large quantities of Korean food and K-beauty products.
Additionally, distributors from Thailand and New Zealand, including 'KUNAKORN CORPORATION' and 'THE FIRST INTERNATIONAL,' which have shown great interest in Korean products, will sit at consultation tables with companies from the province.
In particular, these buyers have already conducted research on the products of Gangwon Province companies that they are highly interested in, and are scheduled to have detailed consultations with the 30 matched companies from Gangwon Province, raising expectations for successful export contracts.
However, to prevent the spread of COVID-19, the 30 companies will be divided and consultations will be held sequentially over three days, and on the first day of the consultation meeting, an opening ceremony will be held along with an online (Zoom) introduction of the invited buyers to the companies in the province.
Following this, Gangwon Province, the Gangwon Economic Promotion Agency, and the buyer companies will sign a business agreement to mutually cooperate in promoting annual regular export consultation meetings and export marketing support projects.
Until now, overseas buyers have contacted companies either through Gangwon Province and individual city/county buyer matching support projects or directly, and there has been a growing need for a centralized window to comprehensively support connections between buyers and companies within the province.
Thus, through this export consultation meeting, a system has been established to comprehensively manage overseas buyer networks, expand their scale, and support companies in the province in pioneering overseas markets.
