LG Electronics-LG Chem Operate Social Economy Program 'Sobim School' for University Students
[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Hyunjin] LG Electronics and LG Chem announced on the 6th that they will operate the social economy talent development program "Sobim School" for university students starting this year through the social contribution platform "LG Social Campus."
LG Electronics and LG Chem held the "Sobim School 1st Generation Launch Ceremony" online on the same day. About 30 university students selected for this program attended the event.
They will participate in the educational program for about five months starting this month. They will attend lectures on economic activities that realize social value and environmental friendliness, and learn the value of social economy enterprises through mentoring by experts in the field. Afterwards, they will carry out projects planning solutions to social issues and visit excellent domestic companies that create social value.
Since 2011, LG Electronics and LG Chem have been providing various support for the sustainable growth of social economy enterprises that create social and environmental values. So far, they have selected 160 companies and supported them with about 11 billion KRW.
