Jangheung-gun Implements Selective Distribution of COVID-19 'Mutual Aid Disaster Relief Fund'

[Jangheung=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Seo Young-seo] Jangheung-gun, Jeollanam-do has allocated a budget of approximately 8.75 billion KRW for the COVID-19 National Coexistence Support Fund (80% national funds, 20% local funds) to provide 250,000 KRW per person to households with income below the 88% threshold (based on health insurance premiums, with a special case for single-person workplace subscribers earning 143,900 KRW or less).
According to Jangheung-gun on the 4th, preparations will be completed by the end of August, aiming to distribute the funds before the Chuseok holiday next month.
Additionally, low-income groups such as basic livelihood security recipients and near-poverty class will receive an extra 100,000 KRW each.
The ‘Hope Recovery Fund’ for compensating small business owners for damages will be announced this month, with payments starting from the 17th. The support amount will vary depending on the quarantine period and sales scale, ranging from a minimum of 500,000 KRW to a maximum of 20 million KRW.
Furthermore, businesses classified as ‘management crisis sectors’ that experienced sales declines despite not being subject to gathering bans or business restrictions will also receive support funds.
Separately from government support, Jangheung-gun has been providing selective support funds since last year, giving up to 500,000 KRW for small business owners’ rent, delivery fees, and other expenses.
Transportation companies such as charter buses and freight trucks receive 500,000 KRW per company, and multi-use facilities such as wedding halls, funeral homes, and religious facilities receive 1 million KRW per establishment, with a total of 2.25 billion KRW in selective support funds already distributed.
The total amount of government disaster relief funds and local government disaster relief funds provided to Jangheung residents has reached 25.2 billion KRW to date.
