Daegu City Operates 'Ice Water Sharing Station' at Sincheon Riverside During Heatwave Period
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] Daegu City announced on the 4th that it will operate a cool 'Ice Water (Dalgubeol Clear Water) Sharing Station' along the Sincheon riverside throughout August to help citizens exhausted by the heatwave.
The sharing stations are located under the bridge piers at three busy pedestrian spots: ▲Jungdonggyo ▲Suseonggyo ▲Docheonggyo.
Considering the strengthened social distancing measures due to the spread of COVID-19, the stations will be operated contactlessly. From 1 PM to 5 PM, the hottest hours of the day, the sharing stations will be set up under the cool shade of the bridges, allowing citizens to take one bottle per person by themselves.
Additionally, various urban heat relief spaces have been prepared for citizens visiting Sincheon to escape the heat. Twelve benches have been installed around large trees to provide shade from the scorching sun.
Amid the ongoing heatwave, a cooling fog system to help cool citizens using the Sincheon riverside will be installed in August on the left bank riverside upstream of Huimanggyo Bridge.
