60s Man Found Dead Living Alone, Tested Positive for COVID-19 After Death
[Asia Economy Reporter Na Yeeun] A man in his 60s living alone was found dead at his home and was diagnosed positive for COVID-19 after testing, causing sorrow.
According to Bupyeong-gu, Incheon, and Samsan Police Station, around 7:50 PM on the 1st, Mr. A, a man in his 60s living in a multi-family house in Bupyeong-gu, was found dead.
Investigations revealed that the homeowner discovered Mr. A collapsed and reported it to 119. The homeowner reportedly visited the site on the 1st after receiving a tip on the 31st of the previous month that a neighbor heard groaning sounds coming from the house.
Mr. A was taken to the hospital and underwent a postmortem COVID-19 test, which came back positive on the afternoon of the 2nd. It is known that Mr. A lived alone, and his movements prior to death have not yet been identified.
The police plan to request an autopsy from the National Forensic Service to determine the exact cause of death.
Health authorities are conducting COVID-19 tests on firefighters and police officers who transported Mr. A to the hospital.
