Muan-gun Signs Free Lease Agreement for Installation of Public and National Childcare Centers

[Muan＝Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Oh Hwan-joo] Muan-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim San) announced on the 30th that it signed a free lease agreement with the residents' representative meeting to establish a public daycare center within the Hoban Summit Namaak Oryong 2nd apartment complex on the 29th.

This agreement was promoted following the amendment of the Infant Care Act, which allows the establishment of public daycare centers in apartment complexes with more than 300 households if the majority of residents agree. It aims to open in March next year to enhance residents' convenience and meet the childcare demand for infants and toddlers.

The daycare center will have an area of 217.5㎡ and a capacity of 44 children, and will be operated by Muan-gun under a free lease for 20 years. Additionally, 70% of the enrollment priority will be given to children of residents in the apartment complex.

The county plans to announce a recruitment for the daycare center operator next month and select the operator through a review in September. After selection, 120 million KRW will be invested to support remodeling and equipment purchase costs to accelerate preparations for opening.

Governor Kim San said, “Through this free lease agreement, we will provide high-quality childcare services to residents of the Namaak and Oryong districts and create a childcare environment where parents can entrust their children with peace of mind. We will continue to promote the expansion of public daycare centers next year and do our best to make Muan-gun a great place to raise children.”
