On the afternoon of the 29th, An San defeated Marlize Urutu from Chad, Africa, 6-2 (27-28 27-23 28-26 28-22) in the first round (Round of 64) of the women's individual event at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics archery competition held at Yumenoshima Park Archery Field in Tokyo, Japan.
An San will face the winner of the match between Animarceli Dus Santos (Brazil) and Ana Vasquez (Mexico) at 6:23 PM in the Round of 32 on the same day.

Earlier, An San set an Olympic record by scoring a total of 680 points with 72 arrows in the women's individual ranking round (seeding round) of the Tokyo Olympics, ranking first among 64 participants to advance to the main event. She then won gold medals in both the mixed team and women's team events. If she wins the individual event as well, she will become the first Korean archer in history to achieve a triple crown.
