Jeonju-si, Sewer Pipeline and Village Sewage System Maintenance Progressing Smoothly
From September, Sewhak-ro and Sewhak 3-gil Area Sewer Pipeline Maintenance... Jochon-dong Wondong and Tap-dong Village Sewage Maintenance to be Completed by November
[Jeonju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Han-ho] Jeonju City announced on the 29th that it will carry out a sewer pipeline maintenance project in the area of Seohak-ro and Seohak 3-gil, Wansan-gu, from September this year to May next year.
The project area is the road in front of Dongseohak-dong Community Service Center and behind Jeonju National University of Education Attached Elementary School, where a combined sewer pipeline that does not separate sewage and stormwater is buried.
Jeonju City plans to newly install a sewage pipeline over a 0.93 km section to upgrade it to a separated sewer system that separates sewage and stormwater, and to maintain the drainage facilities of 72 households.
A total project cost of 2.092 billion KRW, including 1.05 billion KRW in national funds, will be invested in this project.
Jeonju City also added that the ‘Village Sewer Maintenance Project’ targeting the Wondong and Tapdong villages in Jochon-dong, Deokjin-gu, which has been underway since October 2016 with a total project cost of 2.244 billion KRW including 1.5 billion KRW in national funds, is progressing smoothly.
This project involves installing 2.81 km of sewage pipelines and maintaining drainage facilities installed in 56 households to separate stormwater and sewage, and is scheduled to be completed in November.
Jeonju City expects that the construction to separate sewage (dirty water) and stormwater (rainwater) in these sewer pipelines will have effects such as odor reduction and improvement of the water quality of Jeonjucheon Stream.
