[Asia Economy Reporter Koo Eun-mo] Kim Sung-gu, Executive Director of Samsung Electronics' Wireless Business Division, said during the 2021 Q2 earnings conference call held on the morning of the 29th, in response to a question about production disruptions at overseas factories due to the resurgence of COVID-19, “The India factory has strictly implemented no-attendance measures for employees related to COVID-19, and the production lines are structured to allow partial shutdowns so that infection damage does not affect other lines,” adding, “Since we are thoroughly managing this in advance, there are no particular production issues caused by COVID-19.”

He continued, “The Vietnam factory experienced production impacts due to the Vietnam lockdown caused by COVID-19, including the suspension of operations by partner companies,” but also said, “We have diversified supply to India and Korea and secured additional suppliers to minimize the impact, and we expect to return to normal operations within July.”
