[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] Shinsegae Department Store Gangnam branch announced on the 29th that it will introduce the 2021 Fall/Winter products across all genres including clothing, bags, jewelry, and perfumes in collaboration with the global luxury brand Louis Vuitton, marking the first time in the department store industry.
Shinsegae Department Store Gangnam said, "From the 30th of this month until the 15th of next month, a Louis Vuitton pop-up store will be opened across five floors to showcase the new fall/winter products."
On the first floor at 'The Stage,' Louis Vuitton’s new products for this year, created in collaboration with Italy’s representative design brand Fornasetti, will be introduced. The atmosphere of the Louvre Museum, which was the runway venue for Louis Vuitton’s 2021 Fall/Winter collection, will be faithfully recreated in the pop-up space on the first floor of the Gangnam store to provide visitors with a special experience.
On the second floor, Louis Vuitton’s perfume collection 'On The Beach' will be showcased, and on the third floor, the fine jewelry collection 'Star Blossom' will be presented. The fourth floor will feature the shoe collection, and the sixth floor will unveil the men’s collection and Temporary Residency. Louis Vuitton products across all genres will be displayed in a total of five unique pop-up stores. Shinsegae Department Store introduced, "The third-floor Star Blossom collection and the fourth-floor shoe collection include exclusive limited-edition products available only at Shinsegae."
Previously, in July 2019, Shinsegae Department Store Gangnam also held a large-scale pop-up spanning five floors, showcasing Louis Vuitton’s new products across all genres including bags, clothing, jewelry, and perfumes. Last year, exclusive products from global luxury brands such as Chanel and Louis Vuitton Men’s were introduced.
The pop-up events in collaboration with global brands have also driven luxury sales throughout the Gangnam store. Based on last year’s unique pop-up events with global luxury brands such as Chanel, Bottega Veneta, and Louis Vuitton, the luxury sector in the first half of last year grew by 23.1% compared to the same period the previous year.
Meanwhile, alongside the Louis Vuitton pop-up, the first floor of the Gangnam store has been newly renovated and unveiled. 'Atelier de Beaut?,' opened on the 27th on the first floor of the Gangnam store, means 'a workshop for unprecedented beauty' and is a space where customers can experience over 100 brands of luxury cosmetics, scarves, handbags, and more.
Visitors can also find Chanel’s premium skincare store and the Dior boutique, where both cosmetics and fashion items can be experienced. Perfumes from Chanel, Gucci, and Dior will be introduced on the largest and first scale in Korea.
