Homeplus Holds Untact Award Ceremony for 'eParan Children's Environmental Drawing Contest'

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] Homeplus announced on the 28th that it held the awards ceremony for the 'e-Paran Children's Environmental Drawing Contest,' jointly hosted by the 'Homeplus e-Paran Foundation' and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) Korea Committee, on the 25th.
This year's drawing contest was conducted in a non-face-to-face (untact) manner. Works were submitted through the official website of the 'e-Paran Children's Environmental Drawing Contest,' and the awards ceremony was held non-face-to-face via the official YouTube channel of 'UNEP Korea.' Over 400 winning works can be viewed in the 'e-Paran Digital Gallery.'
More than 11,200 elementary school students nationwide participated, and a total of 400 winning works were selected, including the e-Paran Award (2 recipients), which is the Ministerial Award from the Ministry of Environment and Ministry of Education, the Blue Sky Award (17 recipients), and the Clean Sea Award (11 recipients). The 'e-Paran Award' was given to the works of child artists Juhwa Kim (Busan Dongseong Elementary School), who depicted a sprout growing where a child cleaned up trash, and Heeseop So (Jeonju Mansu Elementary School), who illustrated traveling a clean country riding a seagull. Awardee Juhwa Kim expressed, "I hope more friends will think about the environment through the e-Paran Environmental Drawing Contest."

Since 2000, the 'e-Paran Children's Environmental Drawing Contest' has been an environmental education program designed to raise children's awareness of the importance of the environment, marking its 19th edition this year. Jehoon Lee, CEO of Homeplus, said, "I am even more pleased and grateful to be able to share a more special awards ceremony through social distancing," adding, "I hope that the kind hearts of children who care about the environment will come together to create a healthy Earth."
