KH Group Philux Judo Team to Award Prize and Encouragement Money to Olympic Bronze Medalist An Changrim
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyungsoo] KH Group's FilLux Judo Team athlete Ahn Changrim won the bronze medal in the men's -73kg judo event at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
KH Group announced on the 28th that it will award a prize of 100 million KRW and an additional encouragement bonus to celebrate Ahn Changrim's bronze medal achievement.
In the round of 32, Ahn Changrim faced Italy's Fabio Basile, the Rio Olympics gold medalist. He competed in four consecutive golden score matches, totaling 31 minutes and 49 seconds of competition. Exhausted, he entered the bronze medal match and defeated Rustam Orujov, the world number 2 and top seed. Demonstrating fighting spirit and determination, Ahn secured a dramatic victory with an uchi-mata throw using his opponent's momentum just 7 seconds before the match ended.
After the competition, Ahn Changrim said, "I am disappointed that I could not achieve my goal of winning the gold medal, but I have no regrets because I gave it my all without shame." He added, "I regret not being able to repay KH Group and Chairman Bae Sangyun, as well as all the executives and staff who supported me wholeheartedly, with a gold medal."

KH Group set prize money at 300 million KRW for gold, 200 million KRW for silver, and 100 million KRW for bronze medals. In addition to the 100 million KRW prize, Ahn Changrim will receive an extra encouragement bonus. Special encouragement bonuses were also given to athletes Kim Seongmin (+100kg category), Kim Jandi (-57kg category), and their coaches who participated in the Tokyo Olympics.
